Momma. She’s the boss, right? Don’t all things have to go through the boss? Uh, yeah, we think so! And since Momma Otter is back on tap, in way of the Pancake Porter, we thought we’d mix things up a little. Here’s the deal… Momma likes bacon. Bacon likes Momma. Together they make a pretty awesome combination. Here’s how that goes:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
1 pound bacon
1/4 cup Momma Otter’s Pancake Porter
1/2 cup brown sugar
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Place a wire wrack over the sheet pan. Lay the bacon on the wire wrack. Do not overlap the bacon if possible!
In a bowl, combine the Momma Otter’s Pancake Porter with the brown sugar. Whisk, whisk, whisk! Whisk the porter and sugar until they combine to create a syrup consistency. Brush the bacon with the beer and sugar syrup mixture. Place in the oven and allow to cook for 10-15 minutes.
The bacon will smoke! A LOT! Open windows, turn on the stove fan! This is completely normal and part of the process that will create delicious Momma Bacon.
… Once the bacon has baked about 10-15 brush it again with the beer and sugar mixture. Repeat this process until the bacon is cooked through.
We think it is served quite nicely in our beer can glass. What a lovely display it makes!
We are pretty sure, with all the football parties going on, Momma would certainly approve!
Nom, nom, nom, nom!
